Tafsir al-Uthaymin: al-Saffat (Tafsīr al-Qurʾān al-Karīm: Sūrat al-Sāffāt) is an exegesis of Surat al-Saffat by the Saudi Hanbali scholar Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymin (d. 1421 AH / 2001 CE) .

Origin and Publication

The material originated as audio-recorded lessons delivered by Ibn Uthaymin during his teaching circles at the Grand Mosque (al-Jamiʿ al-Kabir) in the city of Unayzah . The Shaykh Muhammad bin Salih al-Uthaymin Charitable Foundation entrusted Fahd ibn Nasir ibn Ibrahim al-Sulayman with preparing the transcription and editing the text for publication .

The first edition was issued in 1424 AH (2003 CE) in Riyadh by Dar al-Thurayya under the supervision of the foundation's scientific committee .

Methodology and Scope

The work provides a verse-by-verse commentary structured around the text of Tafsir al-Jalalayn, specifically the portion authored by Jalal al-Din al-Mahalli (d. 864 AH) . In the printed text, al-Mahalli's wording is marked within brackets, followed by Ibn Uthaymin's detailed exposition, linguistic clarification, creedal discussions, and derived benefits and rulings .
