al-Subh al-Munabbi an Haythiyyat al-Mutanabbi ("The Dawn Disclosing the Standing of al-Mutanabbi") is a biographical and literary work by the Syrian scholar and man of letters Yusuf al-Badi'i (d. 1073 AH / 1662 CE), dedicated to the life, biographical accounts, and selected poetry of the Abbasid poet al-Mutanabbi .
Subject and Scope
The book is an abridgment focused on the biography and historical reports (akhbar) concerning Abu al-Tayyib al-Mutanabbi, together with a selection of his most prized verses (qala'id ash'arih) . It stands among several single-poet biographical treatises composed by al-Badi'i, alongside his Hibat al-Ayyam fima yata'allaq bi-Abi Tammam on Abu Tammam and Awj al-Taharri an Haythiyyat Abi al-Ala al-Ma'arri on Abu al-Ala al-Ma'arri .

Copies of the work are preserved in manuscript collections worldwide, including holdings at Istanbul University, Raghib Pasha, al-Ahmadiyya Library in Aleppo, Dar al-Kutub al-Misriyya and al-Azhar in Cairo, al-Zaytuna in Tunis, the General Library in Rabat, King Faisal Center in Riyadh, the Staatsbibliothek in Berlin, Gotha Research Library, Leipzig University, the Bibliothèque nationale de France in Paris, the British Museum in London, and Princeton University .

It was later printed in Damascus in 1350 AH (1930 CE) . A critical edition prepared by Mustafa al-Saqqa, Muhammad Shata, and Abdu Ziyada Abdu was published by Dar al-Ma'arif in Cairo in 1963 as part of its Dhakhair al-Arab series (no. 36), with subsequent editions appearing in 1977 and 1994 .
