Al-Salasil al-Mukhtara min Sahih al-Imam al-Bukhari (The Selected Transmission Chains from the Sahih of Imam al-Bukhari) is a modern hadith compilation by Abd Allah ibn Ali al-Azab that organizes selected hadiths from صحيح البخاري (Sahih al-Bukhari) by their recurring chains of transmission (salasil, sing. silsilah) .
Purpose and Methodology
The compiler finished the work on 27 Ramadan 1440 AH (2019 CE), and it was published in Riyadh in 1441 AH (2019–2020 CE) as a 70-page volume, reviewed by Abd al-Aziz ibn Abd al-Hamid al-Faris .
The stated objective of the work is to assist students of hadith in memorizing and mastering isnads by grouping narrations transmitted through identical pathways . In compiling the text, the author restricted the scope strictly to Sahih al-Bukhari . A chain might run from محمد بن إسماعيل البخاري's immediate teacher down to the end of the isnad, or only to its midpoint . Rather than stating the isnad once at the beginning of a section, the author repeated the full chain before every single hadith to reinforce its memorization . For biographical evaluations and details of the narrators, he relied on ابن حجر العسقلاني's Taqrib al-Tahdhib (Approximation of the Refinement) .
