Ahadith min al-Musnad al-Sahih li-Abi Hamid Ibn al-Sharqi (Hadiths from the Authentic Musnad of Abu Hamid Ibn al-Sharqi) is a short hadith compilation extracted from the larger Sahih work composed by the Nishapuri traditionist Abu Hamid Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn al-Hasan Ibn al-Sharqi (240–325 AH / 854–937 CE) .
Transmission and Content
The text preserves twenty-seven narrations transmitted with their complete chains of transmission (isnad) through Abu Hamid Ibn al-Sharqi . According to the opening transmission note, the text was read back to Ibn al-Sharqi in 323 AH, after which it was related from him by Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Sulayti in Ramadan 368 AH . It then passed down through Abu Uthman Sa'id ibn Abi Sa'id al-Iskabi (known as Sa'id al-Ayyar), Abu Abd Allah al-Husayn ibn Abd al-Malik al-Khallal, and Abu al-Majd Zahir ibn Abi Tahir al-Thaqafi, with recorded auditory audition (sama') for Ismail ibn Umar al-Maqdisi and his brother .
Within the booklet, Ibn al-Sharqi relates traditions from prominent teachers—such as Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Dhuhli, Ahmad ibn Yusuf al-Sulami, Abu al-Azhar Ahmad ibn al-Azhar, and Abbas ibn Muhammad al-Duri—accompanied by critical commentary on individual transmission pathways, such as noting unique transmitters (afrad) or describing rare chains of transmission (gharib) .
Publication
The tract was edited by 'Amir Hasan Sabri and published by Dar al-Basha'ir al-Islamiyyah in Beirut in 1427 AH / 2006 CE as part of its series on hadith treatises and booklets (Silsilat al-Ajza' wa-al-Kutub al-Hadithiyyah, no. 39) .
