Yasir al-Hamdani is a contemporary Islamic writer, preacher, and poet known for his compilations of ethical exhortations, hadith selections, and literary works, including Mawsu'at al-raqa'iq wa-l-adab (The Encyclopedia of Heart-Softening Traditions and Literature) .

Identity and Education

His official name is Yasir Ahmad Mahmud Ahmad, with his extended lineage given as Yasir ibn Ahmad ibn Mahmud ibn Ahmad ibn Abi al-Hamd al-Kuwayyis al-Hamdani, while he adopted "Yasir al-Hamdani" as his pen name for his writings . He graduated with a "Good" (jayyid) grade from a preachers' training institute affiliated with al-Jam'iyyah al-Shar'iyyah .

Scholarly Approach and Literary Activity

Al-Hamdani devoted over twenty years to studying Islamic heritage, focusing on gathering rare prophetic traditions, Arabic poetry, maxims, and proverbs . In compiling hadith and historical reports, he adopted a methodology of checking narrations against the authentication standards of contemporary hadith scholar Muhammad Nasir al-Din al-Albani as well as the classical evaluations of al-Dhahabi and Nur al-Din al-Haythami, avoiding fabricated and weak traditions except where their weakness is explicitly noted .

His compilations often integrate his own original verses alongside classical and modern poetry . Beyond his extensive compendium Mawsu'at al-raqa'iq wa-l-adab, his publications include Hayat al-tabi'in (The Life of the Successors), an abridgment and selection of 120 biographical entries drawn from al-Dhahabi's Siyar a'lam al-nubala', and Jawahir min aqwal al-rasul (Jewels from the Sayings of the Messenger), a thematic hadith collection .
