Turki Belahmar (Turki ibn ‘Umar ibn Muhammad Belahmar) is a contemporary Saudi Islamic writer and researcher based in Jeddah . He is known for his jurisprudential treatise Kashf al-asrar ‘an al-qawl al-talid fima lahiqa mas’alat al-hijab min tahrif wa-tabdil wa-tashif ("Unveiling the Secrets of the Ancient View Regarding the Distortions, Alterations, and Misreadings That Affected the Question of the Hijab") .

Scholarly Focus

Belahmar completed his treatise on the veil on 15 Jumada al-Thaniyah 1429 AH (June 2008) . In it, he examines the exegetical and jurisprudential foundations of the Islamic veil, focusing on the interpretation of early Quranic passages revealed on the topic, such as those in Surat al-Ahzab . Grounding his argument in the statements of early Islamic scholars, he asserts that covering the face is a divine obligation established in the Quran and the Sunnah, and he critiques contemporary views—including those held by scholars such as Muhammad Nasir al-Din al-Albani—that regard face-covering as merely recommended or sunnah .
