Salih bin Taha Abd al-Wahid (d. 1439 AH / 2017–2018 CE), also known by the kunya Abu Islam, was an Islamic preacher, imam, and author based in Amman, Jordan, best known for his work on the prophetic biography, Subul al-Salam min Sahih Sirat Khayr al-Anam (Paths of Peace from the Authentic Biography of the Best of Mankind) .
Life and Preaching
Abd al-Wahid served as an imam and Friday preacher (khatib) at the Ibrahim al-Hajj Hasan Mosque in Amman . His scholarly and educational output grew directly out of his regular pulpit addresses; after delivering series of sermons focused on Islamic creed and supplication, the latter compiled under the title al-Du'a al-Nafi' (Beneficial Supplication), he transitioned to the prophetic biography and subsequently to the biographies of the Companions .
His biographical series at the Ibrahim al-Hajj Hasan Mosque was later transcribed and published as Subul al-Salam min Sahih Sirat Khayr al-Anam, completed in Sha'ban 1424 AH (October 2003 CE) . The work was structured around verified historical reports, omitting weak narratives and drawing moral, spiritual, and practical lessons aimed at the contemporary Muslim community .
Standing and Reception
Abd al-Wahid's biographical work was reviewed and endorsed by contemporary Jordanian Salafi scholars, including Salim bin Eid al-Hilali and Mashhur bin Hasan Al Salman . In their commendations, al-Hilali praised the coherence and utility of the compilation, while Al Salman commended Abd al-Wahid's dedication to authentic narrations, his analytical deduction of lessons for modern circumstances, and his memory and delivery during the original sermon series .
