Saeed bin Misfer (b. 1361 AH / 1942 CE) is a Saudi Islamic preacher and scholar of creed (Aqidah), known for his public lectures and pastoral counseling on family and youth issues.

Early life and education

Saeed bin Misfer bin Mufrih al-Qahtani was born in 1361 AH (1942 CE) in the city of Abha, Saudi Arabia. He graduated from the Teachers Training Institute in 1379 AH (1959/1960 CE). He later pursued higher Islamic education, obtaining a bachelor's degree in Sharia from the southern branch of Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University in 1401 AH (1981 CE). Continuing his postgraduate studies at Umm al-Qura University in Mecca, he earned a master's degree in Islamic creed in 1415 AH (1994/1995 CE) and completed his doctorate in the same field in 1418 AH (1997/1998 CE).

Career and preaching

He began his career as an elementary teacher for three years, after which he worked for five years as a physical and scouting education supervisor under the local Department of Education. In 1387 AH (1967/1968 CE), following a personal religious turning point, he transferred within the department to work in Islamic awareness and education. In 1396 AH (1976 CE), he became the head of the first Qur'an memorization school established in the Asir province, serving there until 1400 AH (1980 CE), and later held an administrative position with the Southern Province Electricity Company. After thirty years in civil and educational roles, he dedicated himself full-time to Islamic preaching (da'wah).

His public lectures focus primarily on core tenets of faith, youth counseling, and family affairs. His academic output includes his doctoral thesis al-Shaykh ‘Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani wa-Ara’uhu al-I‘tiqadiyyah wa-l-Sufiyyah ("Sheikh Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani and His Creedal and Sufi Views"), in which he analyzed al-Jilani's theological positions and his adherence to early, moderate Sufism, alongside pastoral writings such as Risalah ila al-‘Arusayn ("A Letter to the Newlyweds"). His preaching style is noted for its simplicity, conversational tone, and regular use of stories, parables, and humorous anecdotes.
