Jawda Husnayn Jawda is a modern academic and scholar of geography known for his contributions to physical and general geography, including Qawa'id al-Jughrafiya al-'Amma al-Tabi'iyya wa-al-Bashariyya and Ma'alim Sath al-Ard.

Academic Contribution

Jawda's scholarship focuses on both physical and human geography. Together with Fathi Muhammad Abu 'Ayyana, he co-authored the general textbook Qawa'id al-Jughrafiya al-'Amma al-Tabi'iyya wa-al-Bashariyya (Principles of General Geography: Physical and Human), published by Dar al-Ma'rifa al-Jami'iyya, designed to present the scientific foundations of the discipline across its varied subfields in an accessible style accompanied by explanatory diagrams and figures. The work spans eleven thematic parts, treating astronomical geography, the rock structure and geological eras of the Earth's crust, geodynamic forces shaping landforms, topography, the atmosphere, the biosphere, human-environmental relationships, world population, settlement centers, major economic activities, and political geography.

In physical geography and physiography, his study Ma'alim Sath al-Ard (Landforms of the Earth's Surface) was published in Beirut in 1966 and in Alexandria in 1982 by the General Egyptian Book Authority, serving as a standard reference in Arabic geographical literature.
