Jamal bin Abd al-Rahman Ismail (kunya: Abu Muhammad) is an Islamic author known for his treatise Wa-La Taqrabu al-Fawahish ("Do Not Approach Immoralities") .

Scholarly Focus and Reception

Ismail authored Wa-La Taqrabu al-Fawahish, completed in Sha'ban 1417 AH (January 1997 CE), to address prohibited sexual transgressions—including fornication, sodomy, lesbian relations, anal intercourse, intercourse during menstruation, bestiality, and masturbation—by detailing the preventive and remedial measures established in the Quran and the Sunnah . In compiling the work, he supported his arguments with textual proofs from the Quran, the prophetic traditions, scholarly consensus (ijma'), and reports from the early Muslim predecessors (salaf), alongside a dedicated discussion of findings from contemporary medicine regarding the physical and societal harms of such acts .

The work received commendations from several contemporary scholars. In a foreword written in Ramadan 1417 AH, Sheikh Sa'ud ibn Ibrahim al-Shuraym praised the book for its clarity of expression, avoidance of superfluous padding, and reliance on orthodox proofs and medical perspectives . Sheikh Sa'id ibn Musfir al-Qahtani likewise provided a preface commending its structured presentation of Islamic preventive and remedial principles . Ismail's published writings associate him with Mecca, Cairo, and Minya al-Qamh in the Sharqia Governorate of Egypt .
