Faisal Saeed Muhammad al-Saidi (fl. 1428 AH / 2007 CE), in full Faisal ibn Saeed ibn Muhammad al-Saidi, is a contemporary Islamic scholar and hadith researcher based in Medina, known for his treatise al-Ahadith al-Warida fi Khabar al-Qahtani wa-Khurujihi Akhir al-Zaman (The Transmitted Hadiths Concerning the Report of al-Qahtani and His Emergence at the End of Time).
Scholarly Work
Al-Saidi authored al-Ahadith al-Warida fi Khabar al-Qahtani wa-Khurujihi Akhir al-Zaman, which he completed in Medina on 15 Ramadan 1428 AH (2007 CE). The work is a specialized hadith study addressing the reports regarding al-Qahtani, an eschatological figure whose emergence before the Day of Judgment is counted among the portents of the Hour. In this monograph, al-Saidi collected the narrations transmitted on the subject, documented their sources (takhrij), distinguished sound (sahih) from weak (da'if) reports, and cited the commentaries and assessments of classical scholars while analyzing the reality and identity of al-Qahtani.
In the conclusion of his study, al-Saidi established that the report of al-Qahtani is authentic and constitutes one of the signs of the Hour. He noted that the duration of al-Qahtani's rule is not defined by any authentic timeframe, that no definitive text establishes whether he is a believer or a disbeliever beyond the fact of his emergence and dominion, and that his leadership is established through dominance and rule rather than election by the people of authority and resolution (ahl al-hall wa-l-aqd).
