Scholarly Activities and Reception
Al-Umayrini specializes in Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) and comparative legal research, focusing on detailed issues of worship and contemporary religious rulings . In his monograph Ahkam al-Saff fi al-Salah ("Rulings of the Row in Prayer"), he investigated the legal ordinances, classical evidence across legal schools, and contemporary matters regarding prayer rows, including aligning rows with floor markers, praying seated on chairs, and congregational formation on board aircraft and vessels . The book received introductory endorsements from scholars including Khalid ibn Ali al-Mushayqih—who praised his systematic citation of classical authorities and scrutiny of evidence—and Abd Allah ibn Sulayman al-Matrudi, head of the jurisprudence department at the College of Sharia at Qassim University .
He also compiled Qararit: Masa'il wa-Ahkam wa-Bida' al-Jana'iz ("Carats: Issues, Rulings, and Innovations of Funerals"), in which he assembled essential rulings regarding the ritual preparation, prayer, and burial of the deceased alongside hadith documentation and warnings against customary innovations, a work reviewed and prefaced by Salih ibn Muhammad al-Wunayan .
