Taliq min Amali Ibn Durayd (Taʿlīq min Amālī Ibn Durayd) is a collection of literary and philological notes extracted from the scholarly dictations (amālī) of the Basran philologist and poet Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn al-Hasan ibn Durayd (d. 321 AH / 933 CE) .
Transmission and Manuscript
The work preserves material from the dictation sessions of Ibn Durayd through the transmission of the Baghdadi scribe Abu Muslim Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Ali al-Katib (known as Katib Ibn Hinzaba, d. 399 AH / 1008 CE), who relocated to Egypt and transmitted some or all of Ibn Durayd's Amali . A manuscript of this transmission, bearing the title Taʿlīq min Amālī Abī Bakr Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan ibn Durayd al-Azdī, riwāyat Abī Muslim Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad ibn ʿAlī al-Kātib, is preserved in Morocco at the library of the Zawiya al-Nasiriyya in Tamagroute .
Content and Related Works
The underlying dictations of Ibn Durayd belong to the genre of Arabic philological and literary amālī, encompassing language, poetry, and adab . The polymath Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti later produced an abridgment of Ibn Durayd's Amali in the field of Arabic language entitled Qatf al-warīd .

The work was edited by Al-Sayyid Mustafa al-Sanusi and published in Kuwait by the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (al-Majlis al-Waṭanī li-l-Thaqāfah wa-l-Funūn wa-l-Ādāb) in 1984 (dated 1401 AH / 1404 AH) .
