Takhrij Mushkilat al-Faqr (full title: Takhrij Ahadith Mushkilat al-Faqr wa-Kayfa ‘Alajaha al-Islam, "Verification of the Hadiths of 'The Problem of Poverty and How Islam Solved It'") is a work of hadith criticism and authentication by the hadith scholar Nasir al-Din al-Albani (d. 1420 AH / 1999 CE) .
Subject and Scope
The book is a specialized hadith verification (takhrij) dedicated to documenting, analyzing, and grading the prophetic traditions and reports cited in Yusuf al-Qaradawi’s treatise on Islamic economics and social welfare, Mushkilat al-Faqr wa-Kayfa ‘Alajaha al-Islam .
Method and Structure
In the book, al-Albani investigates the chains of transmission (asānīd) for each narration cited in al-Qaradawi's original work, evaluating individual narrators and referencing early biographical and hadith collections . He assigns verdicts on the authenticity of the traditions—classifying them into sound (sahih), fair (hasan), or weak (da‘if) . At the end of the text, al-Albani appended an alphabetical index of the analyzed hadiths to facilitate reference .
Publication
The work was published as an independent volume by al-Maktab al-Islami in Beirut and Damascus . Its first edition appeared in 1405 AH (1984 CE), followed by a second edition issued by the same publisher in 1405 AH (1984 CE) comprising 96 pages in large format .
