Tadhkirat al-Mu'tasi Sharh Aqidat al-Hafiz Abd al-Ghani al-Maqdisi (A Reminder for the Follower: An Explanation of the Creed of al-Hafiz Abd al-Ghani al-Maqdisi) is a contemporary commentary on Islamic theology by the Saudi scholar Abd al-Razzaq ibn Abd al-Muhsin al-Badr . The base treatise is a concise primer on traditional Sunni theology anchored in scriptural proofs from the Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah . Al-Badr highlights a clear stylistic and thematic resemblance between al-Maqdisi's treatise and al-Aqidah al-Wasitiyyah by Ibn Taymiyyah, noting that al-Maqdisi preceded Ibn Taymiyyah in composition .
In his introduction, al-Badr addresses the naming of the base text, noting that while one printed edition appeared under the title al-Iqtisad fi al-I'tiqad, all five available manuscripts are titled Aqidat Abd al-Ghani al-Maqdisi or minor variants thereof . He argues that al-Iqtisad fi al-I'tiqad is likely a separate, larger work by al-Maqdisi as described in biographical dictionaries, whereas the text commented upon is a distinct, compact primer .
