Related Works and Historical Context
In classical biographical and bibliographical records, several major works carry related or kindred titles centered around collections for hadith scholars and preachers:
- Rawḍat al-Mudhakkirīn wa-Bahjat al-Muḥaddithīn: A major multi-volume hadith compilation authored in eight volumes by the Isfahani hadith scholar and dictation scribe (mustamli) Abu Hafs Umar ibn Ahmad ibn Abi Sa'd al-Isbahani, known by the sobriquet Shaʿrānah . Abu Hafs was also known for rearranging the Musnad of Ahmad ibn Hanbal according to the chapters of jurisprudence and legal rulings . He transmitted extensively in Isfahan from scholars such as Abu Ja'far al-Saydalani, Afifah, Abu al-Fada'il al-Abdakwi, and Mahmud ibn Ahmad al-Thaqafi, before dying during the Mongol assault on the city .
- Rawḍat al-ʿUlamāʾ: Authored by the Hanafi scholar Abu Ali al-Husayn ibn Yahya al-Bukhari al-Zandawisti, this work was initially compiled under the title Rawḍat al-Mudhakkirīn . It was later expanded and rearranged into structured sessions combining legal issues with verses of the Quran, prophetic traditions, and illustrative historical anecdotes .
