Musnad Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas (The Musnad of Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas) is an early hadith compilation by the Baghdadi traditionist Ahmad ibn Ibrahim al-Dawraqi (168–246 AH / 784–860 CE) dedicated to the narrations transmitted on the authority of the companion Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas .

Scope and Content

The work belongs to the monographic musnad genre, bringing together hadiths narrated by Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas through various transmission chains leading to his sons—such as Ibrahim ibn Sa'd—and other early transmitters . It includes both full and abridged narrations across legal and historical topics, accompanied by full chains of transmission (isnads) going back to the Prophet ﷺ .

Transmission and Publication

The text is preserved in a manuscript spanning three parts (ajza') bound within collective volume 37 (folios 117–138) at the Zahiriyya Library in Damascus, as recorded in its hadith catalog by Muhammad Nasir al-Din al-Albani . It was critically edited by Amir Hasan Sabri and published in a single volume by Dar al-Basha'ir al-Islamiyyah in Beirut (1st edition, 1407 AH / 1987 CE) .
