The tract was transmitted through several chains of Syrian hadith scholars. Notable recensions include the transmission of Abu Muhammad Abd al-Rahman ibn Uthman Ibn Abi Nasr al-Dimashqi (d. 420 AH) and transmissions through Khaythama's nephew, al-Husayn ibn Abd Allah al-Atrabulsi .
