Min Hadith Abd Allah ibn Yazid al-Muqri (Arabic: من حديث أبي عبد الرحمن عبد الله بن يزيد المقرئ مما وافق رواية الإمام أحمد في المسند, A Hadith Part from the Narrations of Abu Abd al-Rahman Abd Allah ibn Yazid al-Muqri That Correspond to the Transmission of Imam Ahmad in the Musnad) is a hadith monograph compiled by the Hanbali traditionist Diya al-Din al-Maqdisi (569–643 AH / 1173–1245 CE) .
Scope and Contents
The work focuses on the narrations transmitted through the hadith transmitter Abu Abd al-Rahman Abd Allah ibn Yazid al-Muqri (d. 213 AH in Rajab), a Qurashi client (mawla) who settled in Mecca . It operates in the manner of a mustakhraj on selected narrations of al-Muqri found in the Musnad of Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal . In it, Diya al-Din collects chains of transmission (isnads) reaching al-Muqri through his own independent transmission routes that parallel and agree with the traditions recorded by Ahmad ibn Hanbal .
The chains presented include narrations transmitted to Diya al-Din by Baghdad shaykhs such as Abu Tahir al-Mubarak ibn Abi al-Ma‘ali and Abu Hafs Umar ibn Muhammad ibn Ma‘mar al-Mu’addib, through intermediaries like Bishr ibn Musa al-Asadi from Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Muqri .
Manuscript and Publication
A manuscript copy of the work is preserved at the Zahiriyya Library in Damascus (Majmu‘ 87, fols. 170–185), penned in the handwriting of Muhammad ibn Abd al-Mun‘im ibn Hamil, a student of the author . It features an audition certificate (sama‘) in the handwriting of Diya al-Din al-Maqdisi dated to 633 AH . The text is also referred to as Muwafaqat al-Muqri .
The text was edited by Amir Hasan Sabri and published in a single volume by Dar al-Basha'ir al-Islamiyyah in Beirut (1st edition, 1418 AH / 1998 CE) as part of a series on hadith treatises .
