Min Awali Musnad Abd ibn Humayd

Min Awali Musnad Abd ibn Humayd (Arabic: من عوالي مسند عبد بن حميد, Elevated Narrations from the Musnad of Abd ibn Humayd) is a hadith tract (juz') preserving a selection of traditions with high chains of transmission (awali) extracted from the Musnad of the hadith master Abd ibn Humayd (d. 249 AH / 863 CE) .

Transmission and Provenance

The primary transmission chain of the collection goes back to Abd ibn Humayd through his student Ibrahim ibn Khuzaym al-Shashi, followed by Abu Muhammad Abd Allah ibn Ahmad ibn Hamawayh al-Sarakhsi, who read it in the Great Mosque of Pushang in 381 AH . It was transmitted to Abu al-Hasan Abd al-Rahman ibn Muhammad ibn al-Muzaffar al-Dawudi, before whom it was read in Pushang in 465 AH, and subsequently to Abu al-Waqt al-Sijzi (Abd al-Awwal ibn Isa), who transmitted it during his stay in Isfahan in Ramadan 551 AH .

The manuscript transmission records several later audition sessions (sama'at), including transmissions through Ibn al-Latti, Ahmad ibn Abi Talib al-Hajjar, and A'isha bint Abd al-Hadi . The Hanbali scholar Yusuf ibn Hasan ibn Abd al-Hadi recorded reading the tract before Zayn al-Din Umar al-Lu'lu'i in Safar 870 AH, with another transmission note dating to Safar 871 AH . The manuscript also notes an endowment (waqf) by the traditionalist Diya' al-Din al-Maqdisi . An audition note from Rabi' al-Awwal 620 AH mentions collation against the three-narrator chains (thulathiyyat) of Abd ibn Humayd transmitted through Abu Ruh Abd al-Mu'izz ibn Muhammad al-Harawi and other scholars .
