Min Awali al-Diya al-Maqdisi: Takhrijuhu min al-Muwafaqat fi Mashayikh Ahmad (Elevated Transmissions of al-Diya al-Maqdisi Extracted from the Concordances Regarding the Teachers of Ahmad) is a specialized hadith tract (juzʾ) compiled by the Hanbali traditionist Diya al-Din al-Maqdisi (569–643 AH / 1174–1245 CE) .
Content and Context
The work collects hadiths characterized by elevated chains of narration (ʿawālī) and concordances (muwāfaqāt) intersecting with the teachers of Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal . It forms part of al-Diya al-Maqdisi's broader scholarly focus on the genre of muwāfaqāt—chains in which a later traditionist reaches an early authority's teacher through an independent route with fewer intermediaries . According to al-Dhahabi, al-Diya composed a comprehensive Kitab al-Muwafaqat spanning more than fifty parts (and approximately sixty parts in another report), from which several individual tracts and thematic selections were derived .
Transmission and Publication
A primary manuscript witness of the work is preserved in the Zahiriyya Library in Damascus (within composite manuscript Majmuʿ 16, folios 1–17) . This copy bears a direct audition record showing that it was read aloud to the author by his nephew, Ahmad ibn Abd al-Rahim al-Maqdisi, in the year 634 AH at the Dar al-Hadith al-Diya'iyya in Damascus .
The text was edited by Muhammad Mutiʿ al-Hafiz and published in Beirut by Dar al-Basha'ir al-Islamiyyah in 1422 AH / 2001 CE .
