Masa'il Lakhkhasaha al-Shaykh Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab min Kalam Ibn Taymiyya (Issues Summarized by Shaykh Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab from the Words of Ibn Taymiyya) is an abridgment compiled by Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab (1115–1206 AH / 1703–1792 CE), extracting concise theological, legal, and exegetical points from the writings of Ibn Taymiyya.

Content and Structure

The work comprises 135 selected issues spanning theology and monotheism (tawhid) across its various categories, substantive jurisprudence (fiqh) and legal theory (usul al-fiqh), and Quranic exegesis (tafsir) and its related disciplines. The collection begins with an analysis of the hadith on intention: إنما الأعمال بالنيات ("Actions are by intentions"), noting its generality contrary to the position held by most commentators. It concludes with a discourse affirming that knowledge arises within the soul through divinely established causes, just as other perceptions and movements do.

Method and Purpose

Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab derived these entries primarily from the broad corpus of Ibn Taymiyya's writings. Commentators observe that the compilation does not adhere to a single rigid organizational framework or a uniform method; rather, the author gathered distinct matters he regarded as particularly significant, either for personal study or for wider public benefit. Creedal inquiries predominate, and several selections address topics that were subjects of active controversy during his lifetime.

Manuscripts and Publication

A primary manuscript is held at the Saudi Library in Riyadh under shelfmark 678/86, from which a photographic copy was preserved in the personal library of Muhammad ibn Abd al-Latif ibn Abd al-Rahman Al al-Shaykh.

The text was edited by Muhammad ibn Abd al-Aziz al-Numay and Fahd ibn Humayyin al-Fahd and printed by Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University as part of the twelfth volume (Mulhaq al-Musannafat) of the collected works of Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab, spanning approximately 199 to 200 pages. The editors noted occasional syntactical irregularities and textual breaks attributable to scribal handling, which they amended through comparison with Ibn Taymiyya's source treatises. It was also published under the title al-Masa'il al-Lati Lakhkhasaha Shaykh al-Islam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab min Fatawa Ibn Taymiyya (Dar Alam al-Kutub, Riyadh, 1408 AH / 1988 CE).
