Editing and Manuscripts
This specific collection in volume one was edited and verified by Isma'il ibn Muhammad al-Ansari . The editorial work relied on several manuscript copies, notably the manuscript in the possession of Abd al-Aziz ibn Salih al-Murshid copied by his father, alongside collations with early printed editions such as the Indian al-Matba'ah al-Mustafawiyyah edition and the Umm al-Qura edition . Editorial annotations document textual variations across manuscripts, such as the total enumeration of issues in Masa'il al-Jahiliyyah, which Abd al-Rahman ibn Hasan Al al-Shaykh recorded as 120 issues while Mahmud Shukri al-Alusi restricted it to roughly 100 in his commentary .
