Majmu‘ fihi Musannafat Abi al-Hasan Ibn al-Hamami wa-Ajza Hadithiyya Ukhra (A Compendium Containing the Works of Abu al-Hasan Ibn al-Hammami and Other Hadith Fascicles) is a collection of classical Hadith monographs (ajza'), critically edited by Nabil Sa‘d al-Din Jarrar and published in 1425 AH / 2004 CE.

Contents and Scope

The volume constitutes the fourth entry in the editor's series devoted to compilations of Hadith fascicles (Majami‘ al-Ajza’ al-Hadithiyya). It brings together seven distinct textual units from early traditionists:

  1. A cluster of minor Hadith treatises published collectively as a single part, including the fascicle of Abu al-Hasan al-Hammami (Ali ibn Ahmad ibn ‘Umar ibn Hafs al-Muqri’), extracted by Abu al-Fath Ibn Abi al-Fawaris and transmitted via Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Ali ibn al-Allaf.
  2. Juz’ Abi Ahmad al-Bukhari, preserving narrations transmitted by Abu Ahmad al-Bukhari (Muhammad ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Yusuf).
  3. Juz’ al-Mukharrami wa-al-Marwazi, containing narrations of ‘Abd Allah ibn Ayyub al-Mukharrami and Zakariyya ibn Yahya al-Marwazi transmitted by Abu Ali Ismail ibn Muhammad al-Saffar.
  4. Muntaqa min Hadith Abi al-Qasim al-Hamid, an excerpted selection from the Hadith transmissions of Abu al-Qasim al-Hamid (‘Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Ishaq).
  5. The second part of Fawa’id Ibn al-Batir (al-Juz’ al-Thani min Fawa’id Ibn al-Batir).
  6. The second part of Hadith Hammad ibn Salama compiled by Abu al-Qasim al-Baghawi (al-Juz’ al-Thani min Hadith Hammad ibn Salama li-l-Baghawi).
  7. Al-Thamanun, a collection of eighty traditions compiled by Abu Bakr al-Ajurri.

Structure and Editorial Method

The work begins with an introductory study providing a biographical entry for Abu al-Hasan al-Hammami, followed by concise biographical notices of his teachers included in the compendium, an evaluation of his writings, and a description of the manuscript witnesses used for the edition. The edited texts of al-Hammami are placed first, succeeded by the remaining Hadith parts.

In establishing the text, the editor focuses on collation with manuscript sources, textual vocalization, and correcting scribal corruptions and misreadings (tahrifat and tashifat). For Hadith authentication and cross-referencing (takhrij), documentation is limited to Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim (or either of them) when present, or otherwise to standard and recognized Hadith collections, avoiding superfluous listings of references. The volume concludes with scholarly reference indices arranged in accordance with a single continuous numbering system applied across all traditions in the compilation.

Publication

The work was issued in a single volume by the publishing house Adwa' al-Salaf in Riyadh, in its first edition in 1425 AH / 2004 CE.
