Majmu fihi Musannafat Abi Jafar Ibn al-Bukhtari (Compendium of the Works of Abu Ja'far Ibn al-Bukhtari) is a collected edition bringing together the surviving hadith treatises, dictation sessions (amali), and transmission notebooks of the Baghdadi hadith scholar Abu Ja'far Muhammad ibn 'Amr ibn al-Bukhtari (251–339 AH / 865–950 CE) .
Contents and Structure
The work gathers various independent hadith booklets (ajza') and dictations recorded from Ibn al-Bukhtari across different assemblies . It incorporates:
- Amali Ibn al-Bukhtari wa-al-Najjad wa-al-Khuldi (transmitted by Ibn Makhlad)
- Thalathat Majalis min Amali Ibn al-Bukhtari (Three sessions from Ibn al-Bukhtari's dictations)
- Sittat Majalis min Amali Ibn al-Bukhtari (Six sessions from Ibn al-Bukhtari's dictations)
- Majlisan 'an Ibn al-Bukhtari (Two dictation sessions)
- Al-Hadi 'Ashar min Fawa'id Ibn al-Bukhtari (The eleventh part of Ibn al-Bukhtari's benefits)
- Al-Rabi' min Hadith Ibn al-Bukhtari (The fourth part of Ibn al-Bukhtari's hadith)
- Al-Sadis 'Ashar min Hadith Ibn al-Bukhtari (The sixteenth part of Ibn al-Bukhtari's hadith)
Transmission
The manuscripts preserve specific chains of transmission through which these texts were passed down across generations . For instance, the transmission of the six dictation sessions runs from Abu Ja'far Ibn al-Bukhtari through Abu Nasr Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Hasnun al-Narsi, then Abu al-Fawaris Tirad ibn Muhammad al-Zaynabi, down to the female Baghdadi scholar Shuhdah bint Ahmad al-Ibri, and through Sibt Ibn al-Ta'awidhi .
Publication
The compendium was edited by Nabil Sa'd al-Din Jarrar and published in Beirut by Dar al-Basha'ir al-Islamiyyah in a single volume (1422 AH / 2001 CE), inaugurating the publisher's series Majami' al-Ajza' al-Hadithiyyah .
