Farid became well known for his writings on spiritual refinement, ethics, and heart-softening matters (al-raqa'iq), most notably his work Al-Bahr al-Raiq fi al-Zuhd wa al-Raqaiq .

Content and Themes

Following the tradition of seasonal homiletic treatises (majalis), Majalis Ramadan is structured into discrete daily or nightly reading assemblies intended for personal reflection and community preaching during Ramadan. The work focuses on cultivating piety, encouraging repentance, and detailing the virtues of fasting, night prayers (qiyam and tarawih), Quranic recitation, and charity, drawing upon scriptural texts and the sayings of early Muslim authorities.
