Ghayat al-Bayan Sharh Zubad Ibn Raslan (The Ultimate Clarification: A Commentary on Ibn Raslan's Zubad) is a legal commentary on Shafi'i jurisprudence authored by the Egyptian scholar and mufti Shams al-Din al-Ramli (919–1004 AH / 1513–1596 CE) . The book serves as an exposition of Safwat al-Zubad, the renowned versified summary of Shafi'i law composed by Ibn Raslan (d. 844 AH / 1440 CE) .
Purpose and Method
In the preface, al-Ramli praised Ibn Raslan's Safwat al-Zubad as one of the finest and most comprehensive treatises composed in Islamic jurisprudence relative to its compact size . He composed the commentary in response to requests from colleagues and students seeking a work that would unpack the poem's expressions, clarify its fine points, verify and articulate its legal rulings, substantiate its textual proofs, and integrate additional legal benefits to serve as a reliable reference for scholars and learners .
