Fiqh al-Islam: Sharh Bulugh al-Maram (Arabic: فقه الإسلام شرح بلوغ المرام من جمع أدلة الأحكام) is a ten-volume legal commentary on Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani's (773–852 AH / 1372–1449 CE) hadith collection Bulugh al-Maram, authored by Abd al-Qadir Shayba al-Hamd (d. 1440 AH / 2019 CE) . Shayba al-Hamd, who taught in the postgraduate department at the Islamic University of Madinah and gave lessons at al-Masjid al-Nabawi, composed the work as an accessible exposition intended to serve both the jurist and the student of Islamic law .
Method and structure
The work follows the thematic arrangement of Ibn Hajar's legal hadith compendium, dividing the commentary on each hadith into standard analytical subsections :
- Vocabulary and biographies (al-Mufradat): Clarification of unusual words, precise definitions of legal terminology and measures, and short biographical identifications of narrators and early jurists .
- Critical investigation (al-Bahth): Analysis of transmission lines, takhrij, variations in narrations, evaluations of authenticity, and citations of classical hadith authorities and commentaries .
- Legal deductions (Ma yufiduhu al-hadith): A numbered breakdown of the legal rulings, theological principles, and ethical directives derived from the narration .

The drafting of the work spanned several years across Madinah and Abha . The author completed the first volume on 27 Dhu al-Qi'da 1374 AH .
