Fawaid Abi Abd Allah al-Naali (Benefits of Abu Abd Allah al-Naali) is a short compilation of Hadith narrations and historical reports transmitted through the Baghdadi traditionist Abu Abd Allah al-Husayn ibn Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Talhah al-Naali (d. 493 AH / 1100 CE), largely preserving the narrations of his grandfather Abu al-Hasan Muhammad ibn Talhah al-Naali (d. 413 AH / 1022 CE) .
Attribution and Transmission
The collection represents a Hadith tract (juz') centered on the transmissions of Abu Abd Allah al-Husayn ibn Ahmad al-Naali, a long-lived authority (musnid) based in al-Karkh in Baghdad who worked as an attendant at a bathhouse (al-Hammami) . His grandfather, Abu al-Hasan Muhammad ibn Talhah ibn Muhammad ibn Uthman al-Naali (d. 413 AH / 1022 CE), was a Baghdadi traditionist from whom al-Khatib al-Baghdadi wrote down hadith; al-Khatib recorded that Abu al-Hasan gathered rare and anomalous traditions (al-ghara'ib wa-l-manakir) and adhered to Rafidism, while Abu al-Qasim al-Azhari related that he heard him revile Mu'awiyah .
The tract is preserved through subsequent Baghdadi transmission lines, such as Abu Ya'la Hamzah ibn Ali al-Qubbayti al-Harrani from Abu Muhammad Abd Allah ibn Ali al-Muqri' from Abu Abd Allah al-Naali from his grandfather . Other chains within the text incorporate transmissions via Abu Ali ibn Shadhan, Ibn Adi, and Abu Muhammad Da'laj ibn Ahmad .
