al-Mawsuaa al-Aqadiyya (The Theological Encyclopedia) is an eleven-volume collaborative encyclopedic work on Islamic creed compiled by a team of researchers under the supervision of Alawi ibn Abd al-Qadir al-Saqqaf and published by the Dorar.net foundation .

Purpose and Scope

The encyclopedia was compiled to clarify orthodox Islamic theology, present its foundational principles, and resolve ambiguities surrounding core creedal doctrines . The text adopts the creedal framework of Ahl al-Sunnah wa-l-Jama'ah, grounding its discussions in the positions transmitted from the righteous predecessors (al-Salaf al-Salih) from among the Companions, the Successors, and their early followers .

Content and Structure

The work is organized systematically across eleven volumes, addressing major themes in Sunni theology :

  • Definitions and Fundamentals: It begins with the linguistic and conventional definitions of creed (aqidah) and monotheism (tawhid) .
  • Pillars of Faith: It provides comprehensive expositions of belief in God's Lordship (rububiyya), Divinity (uluhiyya), and Names and Attributes (al-asma wa-l-sifat), alongside belief in the angels, divine scriptures, prophets and messengers, the Last Day, and the divine decree (qadar) .
  • Matters of Faith and Unseen Realities: It covers subjects relating to faith (iman), disbelief (kufr), and the affairs of the unseen (al-ghayb) .

Publication

The work was issued digitally under the auspices of the Dorar.net platform (with an edition circulated in Rabi al-Awwal 1433 AH) and serves as a modern reference for researchers and students of Islamic theology .
