al-Jumuʿ al-Bahiyya lil-ʿAqida al-Salafiyya (The Radiant Compilations of Salafi Creed) is a thematic compilation assembled by Abu al-Mundhir al-Minyawi (Mahmud ibn Muhammad ibn Mustafa), extracting the creedal expositions from Muhammad al-Amin al-Shinqiti's Quranic commentary Adwa' al-Bayan and its completion by Atiyya Muhammad Salim.

Background and Purpose

During his reading of Adwa' al-Bayan, al-Minyawi indexed the work analytically across several disciplines, including theology (aqida), jurisprudence (fiqh), legal theory (usul al-fiqh), Arabic linguistic usage, legal maxims, and Quranic sciences. Observing that al-Shinqiti had not authored a standalone treatise on theology, yet had defended the creed of the early generations (al-salaf) and Ahl al-Sunna across various passages of his exegesis, al-Minyawi resolved to extract these discussions into an independent reference work. He consulted several scholars regarding the project, specifically acknowledging the encouragement and input of Ibrahim ibn Zakariyya, Muhammad ibn Abd al-Hakim al-Qadi, and Ashraf ibn Jalal.

Methodology and Content

The compilation gathers theological material directly from al-Shinqiti's exegesis, incorporating the sections written by his student Atiyya Muhammad Salim in the continuation (tatimmah) of Adwa' al-Bayan due to Salim's close adherence to his teacher's methodology. Al-Minyawi preserved the original wording of both authors without altering their text. His editorial contributions consisted of organizing the material into structured chapters and sections (abwab and fusul), supplying descriptive headings, verifying and grading the hadith narrations (takhrij and tahqiq), and adding occasional explanatory notes.

Publication

The work was published in Egypt by Maktabat Ibn Abbas in 1426 AH / 2005 CE under the full title al-Jumuʿ al-Bahiyya lil-ʿAqida al-Salafiyya allati Dhakaraha al-ʿAllama al-Shinqiti fi Tafsirihi Adwa' al-Bayan.
