al-Fiqh al-Manhaji 'ala Madhhab al-Imam al-Shafi'i (The Methodical Jurisprudence According to the School of Imam al-Shafi'i) is a multi-volume contemporary manual of Shafi'i jurisprudence co-authored by Mustafa al-Khin, Mustafa al-Bugha, and Ali al-Sharbaji .
Purpose and Methodology
The authors composed the work to present Islamic jurisprudence according to the Shafi'i school in a modern, simplified style accessible to students of Islamic knowledge and general readers . The manual focuses on core legal rulings and primary issues while avoiding overly hypothetical questions (iftirad) and unnecessary elaboration .
A central feature of the work's method is pairing legal rulings directly with their scriptural proofs from the Quran and Sunnah, referencing the precise locations of hadiths in primary source collections . For hadith citations, the authors relied on specific standard editions: Mustafa al-Bugha's edition for Sahih al-Bukhari, Muhammad Fu'ad 'Abd al-Baqi's editions for Sahih Muslim and Sunan Ibn Majah, and 'Izzat 'Ubayd al-Da'as's edition for Sunan al-Tirmidhi and Sunan Abi Dawud .
