al-Budur al-Zahira fi al-Qiraat al-Ashr al-Mutawatira (The Radiant Full Moons Concerning the Ten Recurrent Quranic Readings) is a manual on the science of Quranic variant readings composed by the Egyptian scholar and reciter Abd al-Fattah al-Qadi (1325–1403 AH / 1907–1982 CE) .
Scope and Content
The full title of the work is al-Budur al-Zahira fi al-Qira'at al-Ashr al-Mutawatira min Tariqay al-Shatibiyyah wa-l-Durrah . The book presents the ten mutawatir recitational traditions of the Quran by combining the two foundational pedagogical lineages of the "minor ten" readings (al-Ashr al-Sughra): the seven readings transmitted through al-Shatibi's poem Hirz al-Amani wa-Wajh al-Tahani (commonly known as al-Shatibiyyah), and the three complementary readings completing the ten, transmitted through Ibn al-Jazari's poem al-Durrah al-Mudi'ah . It serves as a comprehensive applied guide detailing the variants for readers and students reciting according to these ten authorities .
