al-Arbaun al-Taymiyya (The Taymiyyan Forty) is a collection of forty hadiths compiled by the Hanbali scholar and theologian Ibn Taymiyya (661–728 AH / 1263–1328 CE) .
Transmission and Publication
The collection is documented in hadith bibliography and transmission records under the titles al-Arbaun al-Taymiyya and al-Arbaun li-l-Taqi ibn Taymiyya . Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti recorded his chain of transmission for the work, noting that he received it through transmission from Nashwan bint Abd Allah al-Hanbali, on the authority of Ahmad ibn Abi Bakr ibn al-Izz, who heard it directly through audition (sama'an) from Ibn Taymiyya .
A modern printed edition of the work, edited by Ahmad Ibrahim al-Hajj, was published by Mu'assasat al-Rayyan li-l-Turath in Beirut (1418 AH / 1997 CE) .
