Ahadith Yazid ibn Abi Habib al-Misri (Narrations of Yazid ibn Abi Habib al-Misri) is a short hadith tract (juz') preserving legal and prophetic traditions transmitted through the prominent Egyptian Successor and jurist Yazid ibn Abi Habib (d. 128 AH / 745–746 CE), preserved within the compilation Ahadith al-Shuyukh al-Kibar .
Transmission and Isnads
The text represents an early Egyptian transmission corpus centered on Yazid ibn Abi Habib, primarily narrated through the Egyptian traditionist al-Layth ibn Sa'd . From al-Layth, the corpus was transmitted to Isa ibn Hammad (known as Zughbah) in 242 AH, and then to Abu Bakr Ahmad ibn Abd al-Warith al-Assal in Muharram 319 AH . It subsequently passed through al-Sharif Abu al-Qasim al-Maymun ibn Hamzah al-Husayni to Abu al-Hasan Muhammad ibn al-Mikyāl al-Azdi al-Misri, who read it at the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus in Rabi' al-Awwal 457 AH . Later transmissions recorded in the text include readings by Hibat Allah ibn Ahmad al-Akfani, Abu al-Qasim Yahya ibn Bitriq al-Tarsusi in Jumada al-Akhirah 520 AH, and Abd al-Karim ibn Hamzah al-Sulami .
Within the tract, Yazid ibn Abi Habib narrates from multiple early authorities, including Ibn Shihab al-Zuhri, Muhammad ibn Ishaq, Safwan ibn Sulaym, Said ibn Abi Hilal, Said ibn Abi Hind, Abu al-Khayr Marthad ibn Abd Allah al-Yazani, Ammar ibn Abi Farwah, and Khalid ibn Kathir al-Hamdani .
