Ahadith Muntakhaba min Ajza Abu Mansur al-Khujani lil-Salafi (Selected Hadiths from the Parts of Abu Mansur al-Khujani by al-Silafi) is a hadith compilation compiled by the traditionist Abu Tahir al-Silafi (d. 576 AH / 1180 CE) . It preserves a curated selection (intikhab) of traditions and scholarly benefits (fawa'id) extracted from the collections of his teacher, Abu Mansur al-Khujani .
Authorship and Transmission
The source material for the compilation originates from Abu Mansur Ahmad ibn Nasr ibn Ahmad al-Khujani al-Mudhakkir, who was among the teachers of Abu Tahir al-Silafi . Al-Silafi selected a single codex part (juz') from al-Khujani's benefits and transmissions . This selection was subsequently transmitted from al-Silafi by direct auditory transmission (samāʿ) through his student Ja'far al-Hamdani .
Manuscript Context and Structure
In manuscript collections, the work survives within composite codices comprising multiple selections (intikhabat) produced by al-Silafi from various scholars . In these manuscripts, explicit scribal markers delimit the text—such as an annotation marking the conclusion of the material transmitted from Abu Mansur al-Khujani—after which other selections appear, alongside additional discrete scholarly benefits noted down by al-Silafi directly from al-Khujani at the end of the fascicle . Copies of the work are preserved in manuscript holdings, including those cataloged at the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies .
