Tariq bin Abd Allah Hajar is a Saudi scholar and academic researcher specializing in Islamic education and the institutional history of Medina.

Academic Career and Research

Hajar has been affiliated with academic and administrative initiatives at the Islamic University of Madinah, including research produced for its Deanship of Community Service. His scholarship primarily addresses Islamic pedagogy, contemporary educational practices, and the documentation of historical educational institutions.

In his study Al-Fikr al-Tarbawi fi Rasa'il al-Malik Abd al-Aziz wa Khitabatuh ("Educational Thought in the Letters and Speeches of King Abdulaziz"), published in the journal of the Islamic University of Madinah, he analyzed the educational directives and pedagogical principles articulated in the correspondence and speeches of King Abdulaziz Al Saud.

His historical research includes Tarikh al-Madaris al-Waqfiyya fi al-Madina al-Munawwara ("History of Waqf Schools in Medina"), which provides a descriptive historical survey of endowed religious schools established in Medina from the 6th century AH until prior to 1340 AH. The work traces how these charitable endowments sustained students and teachers, focused primarily on the Quran and Islamic legal sciences, and eventually disappeared or were repurposed into public hospices and modern Quran-memorization schools.
