Sulayman bin Khalid al-Harbi is a contemporary Islamic scholar and hadith specialist, best known for his commentary on hadith nomenclature titled al-Kawakib al-Durriyya ala al-Manzuma al-Bayquniyya.
Teaching and Methodology
Al-Harbi delivered an educational course on al-Manzuma al-Bayquniyya, the didactic poem on hadith terminology by al-Bayquni, organized by the Da‘wah and Guidance Office in the governorate of al-Zulfi in 1429 AH (2008 CE). Held at the Mosque of Ibn al-Qayyim, the commentary was delivered through dictation over eleven sessions.
The lectures were transcribed and prepared for publication by 'Abd al-'Aziz al-Mas'ud with al-Harbi's permission, and issued under the title al-Kawakib al-Durriyya 'ala al-Manzuma al-Bayquniyya. In his pedagogical approach to hadith studies, al-Harbi adheres to the methodological framework of early hadith specialists (al-mutaqaddimun) while integrating the analytical precision and refined definitions developed by later scholars (al-muta'akhkhirun).
