Sami bin Muhammad bin Jad Allah is a contemporary Islamic scholar and researcher known for his studies in Hanbali jurisprudence and manuscript editing, as well as his compilation al-Ikhtiyarat al-Fiqhiyya li-Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyya lada Talamidhihi.
Scholarly Contributions
Bin Jad Allah's research has focused primarily on documenting classical Hanbali jurisprudence and compiling the legal heritage of Ibn Taymiyya and his circle. Within the publication initiative conceived and supervised by Bakr Abu Zayd, he prepared al-Ikhtiyarat al-Fiqhiyya li-Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyya lada Talamidhihi ("The Jurisprudential Choices of Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyya According to His Students"), in which he systematically extracted and categorized Ibn Taymiyya's specific legal rulings transmitted across the writings of his direct pupils.
In manuscript editing and textual verification, he worked on several works by the Hanbali traditionist Ibn 'Abd al-Hadi (d. 744 AH / 1344 CE). Together with 'Abd al-'Aziz bin Nasir al-Khabani, he edited Ibn 'Abd al-Hadi's five-volume hadith verification work Tanqih al-Tahqiq fi Ahadith al-Ta'liq. He also produced a critical edition of Ibn 'Abd al-Hadi's Ikhtiyarat Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyya, published in Mecca in 1424 AH.
