Academic Work and Methodology
His full name is Nasir ibn Ibrahim ibn Abd Allah al-Tuwaym. He completed his major academic study in Riyadh on 23 Rabiʿ al-Awwal 1423 AH (2002 CE).
His monograph, al-Shaykh Muhammad ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhab: Hayatuhu wa-Daʿwatuhu fi al-Ruʾya al-Istishraqiyya: Dirasa Naqdiyya ("Sheikh Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab: His Life and Mission in the Orientalist View: A Critical Study"), examines Western Orientalist literature from the mid-eighteenth century through the twentieth century. The study analyses Western encyclopedias, books, articles, and reports regarding the lineage, education, travels, and theological positions of Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab. Al-Tuwaym critiques the methodological shortcomings of several prominent Orientalists, arguing that frequent inaccuracies in Western accounts arose from their reliance on secondary or hostile historical narratives while neglecting reliable primary sources.
