Academic Research and Scholarly Activity
Abu Zayd pursued advanced academic research in hadith sciences, completing his master's thesis titled Manhaj al-Khatib al-Baghdadi fi Naqd al-Hadith min Khilal Kitabihi Tarikh Baghdad (The Methodology of al-Khatib al-Baghdadi in Hadith Criticism through His Book Tarikh Baghdad) . In this study, he investigated the critical standards applied by al-Khatib al-Baghdadi in his biographical history Tarikh Baghdad (The History of Baghdad), assessing his critiques of narrators regarding obscurity, uprightness, and precision, while comparing his theoretical rules in al-Kifayah fi 'Ilm al-Riwayah (The Sufficiency in the Science of Transmission) with his practical evaluations .
In the field of creed, he authored al-Intisar lil-Salaf al-Akhyar (The Defense of the Noble Forebears), which he completed in Cairo in Rajab 1428 AH / June 2007 CE as a critique of Mahmud 'Abd al-Raziq al-Ridwani's treatise on the Divine Names . He stated that his objective in the treatise was to defend the creed of the early generations of Muslims regarding the Divine Names . In manuscript editing, Abu Zayd located and edited Mutashabih al-Asami (Homographs of Names) by the scholar al-Zamakhshari, a reference on onomastics that had previously been considered lost .
