Muhammad Khalil Malkawi (full name: Muhammad Ahmad Muhammad Abd al-Qadir Khalil Malkawi) is a contemporary Islamic scholar and academic who served as an assistant professor at King Saud University in Riyadh. He is known for his work on Islamic theology and his critical edition of Izhar al-Haqq.

Academic Career and Scholarship

Malkawi served as an assistant professor at the College of Education at King Saud University in Riyadh. His scholarship centers on Islamic theology (aqidah), monotheism (tawhid), and interreligious polemics. In his monograph Aqidat al-Tawhid fi al-Quran al-Karim (The Creed of Monotheism in the Holy Quran), published in 1405 AH / 1985 CE, he examined the conceptual framework of Islamic creed, critiqued evolutionary theories of religion, and detailed the Quranic methodology of establishing monotheism through cosmic proofs, parables, and prophetic accounts.

In textual editing, Malkawi produced a four-volume critical edition, study, and commentary of Izhar al-Haqq (The Demonstration of the Truth) by the nineteenth-century Indian scholar Rahmatullah al-Kairanawi. Published in 1410 AH / 1989 CE by the General Presidency of Scholarly Research and Ifta in Saudi Arabia, his edition was collated against the author's original manuscript copies and later reissued by publishers including Dar al-Watan. He also edited al-Kairanawi's al-Munazarah al-Kubra bayna Rahmat Allah wa-Fandar (The Great Debate between Rahmatullah and Pfander), which was published in Riyadh in 1412 AH.
