Lulwa bint Salih al-Sunaidi is a contemporary Islamic legal scholar and researcher, best known for her comparative jurisprudential study Masa'il al-Ibadat al-Mukhtassa bil-Zawjayn ("Issues of Acts of Worship Specific to Spouses").
Academic Career and Research
Al-Sunaidi prepared her master's thesis in Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) at the Faculty of Sharia during the 1439–1440 AH (2018–2019 CE) academic year under the academic supervision of Dr. Amal bint Ibrahim al-Dabbasi, an associate professor in the faculty's Department of Fiqh.
Her thesis, Masa'il al-Ibadat al-Mukhtassa bil-Zawjayn, addresses legal questions within the jurisprudence of worship that pertain specifically to husbands and wives within a valid marriage, collecting dispersed rulings across classical legal literature to clarify scholarly views and show the connection between acts of worship and marital life. The study was organized into an introduction, a preliminary conceptual chapter, six substantive chapters, a conclusion, and analytical indexes. The core chapters systematically treat the rulings specific to spouses across ritual purity (tahara), prayer (salah), zakat, fasting (siyam), pilgrimage rituals (manasik), and jihad.
