Khalid ibn Mansur al-Mutlaq (fl. 1434–1435 AH / 2013–2014 CE) is a contemporary Islamic scholar and researcher in Islamic creed . He is known for his analytical and critical study Manhaj al-Imam Jamal al-Din al-Sarmari fi Taqrir al-Aqida ("The Methodology of Imam Jamal al-Din al-Sarmari in Establishing Creed") .
Academic Work and Research
Al-Mutlaq prepared his master's thesis in the Department of Creed and Contemporary Madhhabs during the 1434–1435 AH academic year under the supervision of Ali ibn Muhammad al-Dukhayl Allah al-Suwaylim . His research investigated the theological methodology of the Hanbali scholar Jamal al-Din al-Sarmari, examining his sources for doctrinal derivation—specifically the Quran, the Sunnah, and the statements of the early generations (al-salaf)—as well as his positions on divine unity (tawhid), the nature of faith (iman), and other core theological doctrines . The study also highlighted al-Sarmari's stance against speculative theology (kalam) . Alongside this analytical study, al-Mutlaq produced a critical edition of al-Sarmari's treatise on prophetic merits, Khasa'is Sayyid al-Alamin wa-ma Lahu min al-Manaqib al-Aja'ib ala Jami al-Anbiya' ("The Distinctive Attributes of the Master of All Creation") .
