Iman bint Abd al-Latif Kurdi is a contemporary Islamic author and researcher known for her work on Quranic terminology, al-Kashif li-Daqaiq al-Mufradat al-Quraniyya (The Discloser of the Subtleties of Quranic Vocabulary).
Life and Scholarly Activities
Her full lineage is Iman bint Abd al-Latif ibn Kamil Kurdi. She was raised in an environment where her parents encouraged her dedication to the study of the Quran. She is married to Dr. Abd Allah ibn Muhammad Bahjat, who supported and helped circulate her research. Her academic household includes her sisters Dr. Najla bint Abd al-Latif Kurdi, a professor of rhetoric and criticism at the College of Education, and Dr. Zaynab bint Abd al-Latif Kurdi, a professor of rhetoric and criticism at Imam University, both of whom assisted in reviewing and organizing her scholarly writings.
In compiling her reference work on Quranic vocabulary, she consulted and received guidance from specialists in Quranic studies, including Musaid al-Tayyar and Dr. Manal al-Utaybi, alongside coordination through Majid Abd al-Ghani at the Tafsir Center. Editorial and linguistic revision of her work was undertaken with the assistance of Abd al-Wahhab Sa'd Salim at the Alwan al-Tayf Center in Jeddah and Dr. Ahmad Khatir at the Khatir Center for Scholarly Services and Studies.
