Education and Scholarship
Al-Madkhali pursued his postgraduate studies in the Department of Fiqh al-Sunnah at the Islamic University of Madinah . He completed his Master's degree under the supervision of Abd al-Muhsin al-Abbad, defending his thesis on 27 Rajab 1402 AH (May 1982 CE) with a grade of "Very Good" . During his research, he was guided by historian Akram Diya al-Umari, then head of the graduate studies department, and received scholarly assistance from hadith specialist Hammad al-Ansari and Dr. Mahmud Mirah .
His primary work, Marwiyat Ghazwat al-Khandaq: Jam‘ wa-Dirasah wa-Tahqiq ("Narrations of the Battle of the Trench: Collection, Study, and Critical Verification"), was published by the Islamic University of Madinah in 1424 AH (2003 CE) . In this study, al-Madkhali compiled and critically examined the transmitted accounts of the Battle of the Trench (also known as the Battle of the Confederates, Ghazwat al-Ahzab), concluding with a deduction of jurisprudential rulings (fiqh) and lessons derived from the battle, emulating the method employed by Ibn al-Qayyim for other prophetic expeditions .

Marwiyat Ghazwat al-Khandaq (Narrations of the Battle of the Trench) is a specialized hadith and sirah monograph that examines and evaluates transmitted historical reports concerning the Battle of the Trench, also known as the Battle of the Confederates. Originally prepared as a Master's thesis defended in 1402 AH (1982 CE) and published in 1424 AH (2003 CE), it applies a hadith-critical methodology to scrutinize authentic reports from unverified or fabricated narratives regarding the decisive confrontation at Medina.
