He compiled his scholarly authorities, teachers, and those who granted him certification (ijaza) in a dedicated Mashyakha. A circle of students studied under him, including Ibrahim al-Khiyari and Ibrahim ibn Muhammad al-Jinini.

In hadith, he composed Sharh Thulathiyyat al-Bukhari, an exposition of the three-narrator chains in Sahih al-Bukhari. In genealogy and onomastics, he produced Dhayl Lubb al-Lubab fi Tahrir al-Ansab, which originated as marginal glosses on his personal copy of Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti's Lubb al-Lubab fi Tahrir al-Ansab; these notes were later gathered and arranged alphabetically by Abd al-Rahman al-Ushmuni.

List of Works

  • Dhayl Lubb al-Lubab fi Tahrir al-Ansab ("Supplement to the Essence of the Core in the Rectification of Genealogies") is a biographical dictionary of relational names (nisbas). It functions as an onomastic supplement to Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti's genealogical handbook Lubb al-Lubab fi Tahrir al-Ansab, aiming to address omissions and document additional nisbas not covered in earlier genealogical texts.
