Hamid bin Salim Ayd al-Harbi is a contemporary Saudi educational researcher and scholar specializing in Islamic pedagogy and Qur'anic education.
Scholarly Focus and Research
Al-Harbi holds a doctorate and has focused his academic research on instructional methods and pedagogy within Qur'anic teaching institutions. He is the author of Idrāk al-muʿallim lil-asālīb al-tarbawiyya al-fāʿila fī halaqāt al-jamʿiyyāt al-khayriyya li-taʿlīm wa-taḥfīẓ al-Qurʾān al-Karīm ("The Teacher's Perception of Effective Educational Methods in the Circles of Charitable Associations for Teaching and Memorizing the Holy Qur'an"), an empirical educational study examining Qur'an memorization circles in the Makkah region.
His research investigated the extent of instructors' awareness of effective instructional strategies and aimed to identify practical approaches for teaching Qur'anic recitation, memorization, understanding, and application. Through this work, al-Harbi advocated for expanding field studies across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including programs for female students, and encouraged postgraduate students in master's and doctoral programs to conduct further empirical research on Qur'anic circles and their societal impact.
