Badr Muhammad Baqir is a contemporary Islamic researcher and author known for his biographical and doctrinal study on the life and scholarly legacy of the early Islamic authority Abu Ja'far Muhammad al-Baqir.

Scholarly Contributions

Baqir authored al-Rawd al-Nadir fi Sirat al-Imam Abi Ja'far al-Baqir: Tafsiruhu wa-Fiqhuhu wa-Marwiyyatuh (The Verdant Garden in the Biography of Imam Abu Ja'far al-Baqir: His Exegesis, Jurisprudence, and Narrations), published in Kuwait in 1428 AH / 2007 CE by Mabarrat al-Al wal-Ashab as the seventh volume of its biographical series on the Prophet's household and companions (Silsilat Siyar al-Al wal-Ashab).

In this work, Baqir contextualizes the obligatory love and respect for the Prophet's household (Ahl al-Bayt) and examines al-Baqir's transmissions preserved in Sunni hadith compendia, documenting his narrations across the Nine Books (al-Kutub al-Tis'ah). He also evaluates the chains of transmission and transmitters associated with al-Baqir, defending him against sectarian fabrications and esoteric Quranic interpretations that he argues contradict the Quran and the Prophetic tradition.
