Azizu Muhammad al-Maghribi (also recorded as Azizu Muhammad Abd al-Salam al-Maghribi) was an Islamic author and student associated with the Islamic University of Madinah.
Education and Activities
Al-Maghribi pursued his studies in Medina at the Islamic University of Madinah, attending its Secondary Institute before entering the Faculty of Da‘wah and Usul al-Din. During his time as a student, he contributed several educational and religious essays to the university's journal.
While studying at the Secondary Institute, he wrote the treatise Ahammiyat Salat al-Istisqa fi al-Islam wa al-Istighatha al-Mashru‘ah ("The Importance of the Rain Prayer in Islam and Legitimate Supplication for Aid"), in which he highlighted the theological significance of seeking rain from God alone and criticized public neglect of the communal prayer called by King Faisal of Saudi Arabia. In the same period, he published al-Shabab wa Dawruhum al-Fa‘‘al fi Bina’ al-Umam ("Youth and Their Active Role in Building Nations"), calling on younger generations to embody Islamic character and transmit religious values. Later, during his studies in the Faculty of Da‘wah and Usul al-Din, he penned an essay reflecting on the migration (hijrah) of the Prophet ﷺ, counseling students residing in the holy city not to be content merely with residence, but to acquire religious understanding and actively engage in da‘wah.
